Rain Thursday and Friday.  Saturday held off, but lots more early this morning and off and on today.  Looks like Monday and Tuesday will be dry, with chances for rain coming in again Wednesday through Friday.  Temperatures in the 70s and low 80s.

So far, they have been running two units non stop since 10:30 yesterday morning.  Table Rock Lake is almost a foot above power pool for this time of the year.

Jim on the water yesterday with Marshall from Kansas.  Marshall had fished with Jim about three years ago.  Water off yesterday morning and they turned on two units around 10:30.  Tough day.  No best fly for them.  Dana had Briar from Springfield out for half a day.  They too had a tough day.  The last tough day was for Carolyn who had Neil and his daughter, Hailey on the water.  This was Hailey’s first time fly fishing so we worked on casting a little.  When the water came on, it was into the drift boat and down the river we went.  Caught a few fish on the red or cerise San Juan worms under the big ruby.

Weather has been nice.  Sunny days and the wind has laid down a little.  Tonight might see rain but 70s tomorrow and party sunny.  Chances for showers each day Thursday through Sunday but temperatures in the 70s.  Monday through Wednesday next week are sunny and 70s to 80s.

Other than Sunday, we have seen a couple units on for a hour or more then off most of the day.  Back on for a couple hours during the late evening.  Sunday they ran two to three units almost all day.  Today a couple units were on this morning and the rest of the day will be off.

Dana on the water late Wednesday with one of his regulars, George.  They had a good day on the black copperhead midge.  Ron and Kathy from Louisiana fished with Carolyn.  They also had a good day but with the Ruby 2 and P&P midges and an orange egg pattern.

Thursday, David and Sandy from Kansas fished with Dana.  Tougher day but they caught some fish on the P&P midge.

Friday was a group of guys.  Dana had Pat and Steve.  Carolyn took the newbies Ed and Jerry.  Jim had John and Kelly.  Fun day for everyone.  Dana’s guys caught on the P&P midge.

Jerry – 4/19/24

Carolyn’s guys were fishing the Ruby 2 and black copperhead midges.  John and Kelly with Jim were fishing the ruby, micro  and P&P midges.  Dana and Jim fished mainly up below the root wad.  Carolyn stayed just above the narrows.

Saturday, Dana took Gary and Terry from Texas out for a 6-hour day.  Worked hard and caught fish on the P&P, black copperhead and Ruby 2 midges.  Mainly fished below the root wad.

Over the weekend, Gary and Carolyn had an Orvis two-day fly fishing school.   Great group of folks.  The highlight of the class was during the time when they go to the water to work on the various presentations.

Beautiful past couple of days with the temperatures in the 80s.  Today will be upper 70s or low 80s and not so much sunshine.  However, the wind it still blowing umpteen miles an hour!  Slight chances for rain this afternoon.  Wednesday looks great!  80s and sunshine.  Thursday is our best chance for rain with temperatures in the upper 70s.  The weekend is going to cool down into the low 60s.

They continue to keep the generators off most of the day.  Off yesterday until 4:00 when two units came on for a couple hours then back off.  Today is no generation until 5:00 p.m.  Three hours and back off.

Carolyn on the water blowing around yesterday with Dale and Carol from Arkansas.  Trend the past several days has been tough fishing during the morning hours and then some time around 11:00 to noon, they fish decide they are going to eat.

That was the case again yesterday.  Maybe one or two hits during the morning hours then just before lunch but especially after lunch, the bite was on.  Most everything was caught on the black copperhead midge.  A few on an orange egg pattern.  Fun day when the fish started hitting.

We continue to see beautiful weather and WIND!  Temperature in the mid 80s yesterday and we will probably see that again today.  Rain moving in Monday night and possibly into Tuesday morning, but temperatures will stay in the 70s until Thursday when we have a cool front coming through.  Again, chances for rain.  Looks like 60s Friday and upper 50s Saturday.

No generation yesterday or through Monday.  Two units on late during the day on Monday.  The rain we just had last week has brought us up to one foot below power pool.

Thursday, Charles was on the river again for the day with Carolyn.  Another good day on the Ruby 2 midge.   Dana and Gina were on the water with a group from Louisiana.  Gina had Staci and Mitchell.  They had a fun day catching fish on the ruby 2 and black copperhead midges.  No water with lots of wind!  Tom and Tonya were fishing with Dana.  They were fishing the JQ streamer.

Think she is going to get back to the water again.  Had to look for the fish, but when we found them it was a good day on the…..yep! Ruby 2 midge.  Caught a few on the P&P and black copperhead, but Ruby 2 was the ticket!

Saturday, Jim had Dwan and Robert from Kansas on the water.  Good day pulling the Cope Special streamer.  Neil and Todd fished with Carolyn.  Tough day.  Hits and a few fish here and there.  Moved around a lot looking for the right spot.  Best patterns were the Ruby 2 and P&P midges.

Up until Monday, weather has been great. Monday it rained all day with lots of heavy downpours.  Tuesday and Wednesday a cold front that moved.  Low 30s Tuesday morning and I think the high made it to the low 40s.  Upper 20s Wednesday morning and it made it into the low 50s…I think.  Now back into the 60s and 70s.  Yeah!

Water generation continues to be a little weird.  Low one unit in the mornings until 10:00 or so, then two units on for one to two hours, then back to one for a couple hours and maybe back to a low two for an hour and back to low one for the rest of the day.  Not certain what this pattern is.

Friday and Saturday, Carolyn had Dean, from Kansas, on the water again.  Friday he was catching was on the cerise worm under the big ruby.  The Saturday catching day was on the black copperhead midge and the P&P midge.  Fun days!

Saturday, Jim had Tom out for half a day.  Good day for them on the ruby midge, mop fly and the JQ streamer.  Gina was on the water with Julie and Sherri.  They had a fun day catching on the Ruby 2 and black copperhead midges.

Tuesday, Carolyn took one of her irregular regulars, Terry and his daughter, Kylie out again.  (He’s really a regular)  This was that cold day and the wind was blowing almost non-stop.  Nasty day!  Despite the nasty conditions, they hung with it and caught some fish on a red or cerise San Juan worm.  Gina had Adam from Wichita on the water.  They were really tough as they didn’t come off the water until almost 6:00 p.m.!

Catching picked up in the afternoon so they stuck with it!  Black copperhead and ruby 2 midges.

Weather continues to be wonderful.  Nice, sunny day today with highs in the upper 50s.  High 60s Tuesday and Wednesday.  By Thursday, we will drop to the lower 60s and chances for rain both days with Thursday being the best chance.  Back to sunshine Saturday and mid to upper 60s.

Generation pattern has been a little spastic.  Wednesday and Thursday it was off all day.  Friday they turned a couple on during the afternoon.  Saturday they had units running until 11:00 then off and back on around 7:00 p.m.  Off all day today.  Tomorrow they are running something almost all day.

Fishing continues to be really good.  Dana was on the water almost all day Thursday with Don and his grandson, Tyson.  This was the day we had storms come through around 3:30.  Good day on the black copperhead midge and a cream mop fly.  Darren was also out.  He had Jeb and Colin on the water.  It was a midge pupae and scud for them.  Jim’s guy, Steve caught on a biot midge and the black copperhead midge.

Fun day Friday.  Dana, Gina, Jim and Carolyn had two fathers and their six sons on the water.  Dads Matt and Marcus were out with Dana.  Gina had Mark and Preston.  Carolyn took Christen and Connor.  Jim gave his boys names and couldn’t remember their real names.  Plus, he jumped into the river, got soaked and they came off the water early.  He was pretty cold and his boys were cold too.  Anyway, for

the ones who stayed dry, it was a good day on a gray scud, black copperhead midge and cream mega worm (Dana)  Gina and Carolyn had their boys on the Ruby 2 midge and red San Juan worm.  Everyone except Jim’s group, started out wading.  When the other boys started getting cold, into the boats they went and finished up the trip from the boats.

Connor & Christen – 3/15/24

The last cast of the day for Connor and Christen, they both hooked up with a fish at the same time.

The weather has been absolutely great!  Warm, sunny days in the 70-80s.  Only negative has been the wind on some of those days.  The cherry blossom trees have been absolutely gorgeous.  The red buds are budding and they look like they are going to be gorgeous!  Can hardly wait for the dogwoods!  We are expecting some much needed rain tomorrow.  Looks like it will come in the afternoon and go into the evening.  Possibly some severe weather is likely.  Friday till be much cooler than we have seen….upper 50s with a slight chance for rain.  Weekend is upper 60s Saturday and upper 50s Sunday.  Monday is looking at upper 40s but back into the 60s the rest of the week.

One or two units on for an hour early in the morning the past few days then zero generation the rest of the day.  No generation showing for tomorrow.  We could certainly use some rain.

Darren on the water Sunday with John and Patty from Oklahoma.  Good day on the P&P midge.  He was back on the water Monday with Matt and his two sons.  They also did well on the P&P midge.

Joey and his friend Willie, took a wade trip with Gary yesterday.  Very good day for these guys on a scud early, then the P&P midge and finished up the day with the Ruby 2 midge.  Carolyn had Susie and Alan on the water.  They also had a very good day on the P&P midge.

Brian – 3/13/24

Brian from Minnesota fished with Dana today.  It was the black copperhead midge and big ruby.

Fishing is good and lots of wading time!

Cannot believe the weather we are having this year in February!  Today it will be in the 70s, as will tomorrow.  Wednesday it looks like 80s!!!  We have had a FEW days in the 30s or 40s but for the most past, it has been 50s and better.  Wednesday will be 40, but back into the 50s and 60s the next couple days.  Long-range forecast is looking good too.

Still running some kind of water non-stop.  For whatever reason, they have been very spastic in the generation schedule.  High two units for four hours, then a low one unit for an hour and back to a low or high two units for a couple more hours, etc. etc.

Dana on the water Thursday and Friday with Scott from Columbia, MO.  Thursday Scott had a good day on the ruby 2 and cream mega worm.  Friday Scott’s wife, Barb joined them and it was the ruby 2 and holographic green crackleback.

Saturday, Chris and his father, John, fished with Dana.  They had a good day on the black copperhead midge and the holographic green crackleback.  Great weather for all these trips!

Terrible weather in January!  Super cold days and lots of them.  Normally February is our coldest month but this year has been different…….so far.  We did get 2-3 inches of beautiful snow yesterday with temperatures in the low 30s (no as bad a January temps).  Today we will see upper 50s and tomorrow low 60s!!  50s until Saturday when the high will be 38!   But, Sunday and Monday return to the 50s.  We’ll take it.

We had been seeing lots of no generation time during the late morning into late afternoon.  However, since last Thursday they have been running non-stop all day.  Have seen some cooler weather and moisture during that time frame.  We are getting some low generation time during the day.  By low generation I mean one unit or less.  This level is wadeable in several places.  Today we will see low generation from 11:00 a.m. until about 5:00 p.m.  I would expect this trend to change soon.

Gary on the water last Tuesday with Jack from here in Missouri.  It was the Ruby 2 midge for them that day.  Worked a lot of different water so Jack can learn all the different places to fish this water.

Weather has been great for this time of the year.  However, it looks like we might be in the some winter weather starting tomorrow afternoon.  They are forecasting rain most of tomorrow.  Tuesday, it will be windy with snow off and on most of the day.  Good news is that earlier there were forecasting a significant amount of snow.  Now, it looks like we might see an inch or better.  Temperatures will drop to a low in the upper 20s.   Wednesday and Thursday are looking good with temperatures in the mid 40s.  Colder next Friday with the possibility of snow and temperatures in the low 30s.  Saturday through the early part of the following week are the hummers!  Temperatures in the upper teens Friday, 20s Saturday through Monday.  That’s line freezing weather!

Water off all day yesterday and again all day today except for an hour late this afternoon.  Monday we are back to running for several hours during the morning, off around noon and back on for a couple hours around 6:00 p.m.

Mayo and his wife, Alex started the New Year off right.  They spend half a day on the water with Dana last Tuesday.  Fun day catching on the black copperhead midge.
