Slower Than Normal

Still see chances for rain in the forecast through the coming weekend and into next week…..30-40%.  Temperatures seem to be hanging in the upper 80 to lower 90 range.

No generation last weekend, but they certainly dumped some water Monday and Tuesday.  Peaked out both days with over 12,000 cubic feet per second before noon.  Today they projected a higher flow than we are experiencing.  Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel?

Stan on the water last Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Richard and Susan from Kansas.   Brand new fly fishers who wanted to learn everything they could about fly fishing.  They certainly experienced the variety of water flows we get here on Taneycomo.  Fun days for these two learning and catching.

Saturday, Dawn and Carolyn spent the day throwing the holographic green crackleback and stripping it just under the surface.  This was probably our best pattern of the day.  It was not fast and furious, but pretty consistent.  Just before the generator came on in the afternoon, the hot hare’s ear nymph under the black copprhead midge or an apricot egg pattern were the ticket.

Newly weds from Kansas, Daniel and Rachael, spent Tuesday morning out with Stan.  First time for her and it had been a while for him.  Fun day for these two on the big ruby midge even with 3 units and when they started and 4 units before they got off the water!
