Five Spillways Open!

We have had a bit of rain the past several days and are expecting more off and on over the next few days.  It does look like the weekend might be dry, however temperatures will be in the low 50s.  Next week has chances for rain Monday and Tuesday.

Yesterday, they opened up three more spillways by about one foot, so we have a total of five producing 4900 cfs in addition to the three generators at around 10000 cfs.  Lots of water coming down the river.

Sunday, Carolyn took Jaime and his long-time friend Doug out for the day.  Morning started off pretty good and we were catching on the cerise San Juan dropped under the big ruby on the top of the long island.  Fishing came to a halt, so we went down to the bottom of the long island, tried a few things, picked up a couple fish, then dead again.  Had lunch to regroup.  After lunch we hit the outer edge of the long island with sinking lines and the JQ streamer.  Picked up several doing this.  The drift out produced a few hits here and there, but not many fish.  They had opened up three more spillways on us about 11:00 a.m.  Water was coming up and fishing was going south!  Still a fun, cold, wet day and we caught some fish!
