Shawn with 20 inch Rainbow – 8/30/25
Shawn and Mike from Independence spend the morning wading with Landon last Saturday. Very good day for them on the holographic green crackleback, Tiger Tail and Primrose and Pearl midge. Shawn caught his biggest trout ever, a 20 inch rainbow. Happy camper!
Monday, Jim took Colton and Martin our for half a day. They had a tough day with lots of short strikes that were difficult to hook. Did catch some on the size 14 JQ streamer.
New fly fishers Ray and Jodi spent Tuesday morning on the river with Carolyn. We started out learning the basic casts, roll and pick up and lay down. Both picked up pretty quickly and so it was learn time to learn how to present! Started out with a Ruby 2 midge and Ray hooked the first fish.

Ray – 9/2/25

Jody – 9/2/25
Barely got started and they blew a horn! Okay, into the drift boat and moved down to Lookout Island. Out of the boat and back into the water. Jodi found a honey hole and hooked several on the Ruby 2 dropped below the Big Ruby. When the flow got too strong it was to a nice seam with out sinking leaders and the JQ streamer. Proceeded to catch several more before the trip was done. Fun day!
