Fun Day!
Getting some much needed rain this morning. Looks like it will let up around 2:00 p.m. After today, it looks like nice weather into the middle of next week. Temperature highs in the mid 80s! What a nice change.
No major change in the generation schedule. Water off almost all day. One unit on around 3:00 p.m. for an hour then back off. Lots of wading time!
Carolyn on the water doing a wade trip with Kevin and Val from here in Missouri. They had never fly fished before and Val wanted to learn. Started out working on the roll cast and then the regular cast. Both picked up casting pretty quick. We then proceeded to work on the various presentation techniques. Of course, started out nymphing with a Ruby 2 midge. Caught a few fish on this and moved on to emergers. Put on a red soft hackle and Val proceeded to hook some fish this way including a very nice one that kept on going! Time for streamer work so it was the JQ on an intermediate sinking leader.

Kevin & Val – 8/26/25
Kevin hooked some on this. Lots of lost fish, but learning how to play fish, especially on 6X tippet, takes a little getting use to. Can’t just haul them in, gotta learn how to get them run, keep your rod tip up, and know then you can bring them in. Tug of war! Fun Day! Getting close to the end of the trip so back on goes the Ruby 2 and we proceeded to hook several more. They finished up with a double but Kevin’s fish jumped out of his hand before we got a picture of them. This was Val’s birthday and she caught the most fish for her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL AND MANY MORE!!!
David, also from here in Missouri, fished with Dana Wednesday. Olive wooly bugger and peach king egg pattern were their flies for the morning.
