Spillways Closed Monday!

Sunny and hot the past two days.  Looks like today will be more of the same.  Forecast for tomorrow is looking like rain with possibly some hail.  Nice for Saturday but chances for rain show up again for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and slight changes for Wednesday.  We’ll see.  Our weather forecast many times do not pan out.

Since the spillways closed, they have been running two generators 24/7.  Expect to see this for several more days.  By June 1, our power pool will be 917.  Right now we are at 916.8 and dropping very slowly.  Let’s just hope we don’t get a bunch more rain!

Jim on the water Monday shortly after they shut down the spillways.  He had Brian and Tim from Oklahoma.  Needless to say, fishing was a bit off as the water was dropping during most of his trip.  They did catch some fish on the JQ streamer and ruby midge.  Worked on casting and had a good time.

Tuesday, took Dale and Tammy, father and daughter team out for half a day.  Their best pattern was the Ruby 2 midge.  Jim has one of his regulars, James, on the water.  Best pattern was the JQ streamer.  Carolyn had Clark from Illinois on his first day of fishing.  He was a glutton for punishment and booked two days!  Best pattern was mainly on the Ruby 2 midge.   Everyone worked hard to find fish.

Carolyn and Clark back on the water Wednesday.  Fish are starting to settle in after the drop in water level.  Much better day than Tuesday.  Pulled in a few on the JQ streamer with the holographic green crackleback, but best pattern was the big ruby.  A few on the Ruby 2.  Fish are definitely, fat and healthy.  Jim and Dana has a father and two sons on the water.  Jim had Dad, Trae and they were catching on the big ruby and ruby 2.  Dana’s guys, Tyler and Preston caught on the ruby 2.

Nice to be back on the water.  Things should just start getting better as the fish get settled.
